Isaiah 64:4 by Chris Clark Creative Music

Isaiah 64-4

“From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear,
no eye has seen a God besides you,
who acts for those who wait for you.”

Isaiah 64-4

This scripture has been a great reminder for me to consider the greatness of God. It has caused me to ponder….. that in all the many splendors of this world, nothing that I have seen or heard is like the great creator of the universe….and the craziest thing is…. that God… the creator of all things acts for people who simply wait for him.

Question: What does it look like to wait on God?

For me waiting on God has been a humble exercise of frequent, mostly brief, but occasionally sustained pauses in the normal everyday activities of life. It has looked like taking a moment or sometimes several moments to thank God for the air that fills my lungs and the grace that has allowed me to continue life on this earth. These days I am doing my best to stop and ask God for guidance in the many decisions that are made on any given day….even in the seemingly obvious or mundane. I am trying hard to wait for God to speak. I am praying for faith to believe that He will “act for me”. What a humbling thought, that the God who holds everything in his hands, who made the oceans, who scattered the stars and planets through out the galaxies, who knows the exact number of times my heart will beat…..THAT God…would listen and act for me if only I would wait for Him. – Chris Clark

Isaiah 43
© Author: Eugene Berg
Now says the Lord, He who has formed you,
Do not be afraid, I have redeemed you,
Called you by name, you are mine
You are precious in my sight, created and formed for my glory
I am the Lord your God who says, I will call them back

(Do not be afraid, I will be with you)

You’ll pass through the waters, and through the rivers, walk through the fire and not be burned

I’ll bring back the people who are blind
I’ll bring back the deaf, though they have ears
I’ll bring back your daughters and your sons
I’ll bring back your children, everyone
I’ll bring back the people from the North, South,
East, and West
I am the Lord your God who says, I will bring them back

Psalms 136

To Him alone who does great wonders
Made the heavens and the earth
Made the sun to govern the day
The moon and stars at night

Give thanks to the Lord, His love endures forever
Give thanks to the God of gods, His love endures forever
Give thanks to the Lord of lords, His love endures forever
Give thanks to the God of heaven, His love endures forever

To Him who divided the sea usunder
Swept Pharaoh and his Army into it
Led His people through the desert
And struck down great kings

This is the scripture memory theme for NorthCreek Church this year. Each Sunday our church family commits scripture to memory during the worship services. The pastors selected this theme to remind us of the importance to know and share the gospel. I have also written a children’s musical that is based on these verses that the children’s choir ministry will present on April 27th. The musical is called, “The Gospel Town Gazette.”

The verses are in the ESV translation. Just click on the reference and it will take you to the ESV Bible site. You can also click on and download the mp3 and pdf of the songs. You can also view the verses from the NorthCreek Church website.

Isaiah 53 Scripture Memory Songs By Glenn Tatum

I was able to finish the Isaiah 53 scripture memory CD today. Below is the complete chapter for reading reference and links for listening. You can download the mp3 and lead sheets of the songs from the box to the left. If you attend NorthCreek Church, you can purchase a CD from the bookstore.

A word concerning Isaiah 53:1-3. Instead of grouping the verses together into one song like I did with the others verses in the chapter, I wrote original lyrics for 53:1 & 2 and used “Man of Sorrows” for 53:3. The actual Bible verses are the choruses for these songs.

I pray these songs will bless your walk in Christ and will help you to hide His word in your heart so you may walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called in Him.

(Isaiah 53 ESV)
1. Who Has Believed (Isaiah 53:1) – mp3
[53:1] Who has believed what he has heard from us?

And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2. For He Grew Up (Isaiah 53:2) – mp3
[2] For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.

3. He Was Despised w/ Man of Sorrows (Isaiah 53:3) – mp3
[3] He was despised and rejected by men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4. He Was Wounded (Isaiah 53:4-6) – mp3
[4] Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
[5] But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
[6] All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

5. He Was Oppressed (Isaiah 53:7-9) – mp3
[7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth.
[8] By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, who considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
[9] And they made his grave with the wicked
and with a rich man in his death,
although he had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.

6. Yet it Was the Will of the Lord (Isaiah 53:10-11) – mp3
[10] Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
[11] Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.

12. Therefore I Will Divide Him (Isaiah 53:12) – mp3
[12] Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.
